YALA UNITED was established to bring together sons, daughters, friends, and well-wishers of the Yala-speaking people — both at home and in the diaspora under one common vision: the advancement and transformation of our communities through collective effort, unity, and purposeful action.

Our identity, language, culture, and heritage are powerful treasures that bind us as one people. YALA UNITED exists to protect that heritage while creating opportunities for growth, development, and empowerment for generations to come.

This movement is strictly non-political and non-partisan — a people-driven platform built on love for our land and commitment to the common good.

To unite all Yala-speaking communities of Yala Local Government Area into a strong, peaceful, progressive, and development-oriented people committed to the collective advancement of Yala land.

Our Mission

To promote unity, peace, cultural preservation, and sustainable development among all Yala-speaking communities through advocacy, collaboration, and community-driven initiatives.

Promote Unity Among Yala-Speaking Communities

Foster brotherhood, cooperation, mutual respect, and solidarity among all Yala-speaking communities in Yala Local Government Area.

Identify, support, and champion projects improving quality of life through infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social development.

Preserve & Promote Yala Language and Culture

Protect, preserve, and promote the Yala language, customs, traditions, cultural heritage, and values for future generations.

Okpoma — the administrative headquarters of Yala LGA, located in eastern Cross River State, Nigeria.

Land Area

Yala LGA covers 1,739 km² — bounded by Benue State to the north, Ogoja LGA to the east, and Ebonyi State to the west.

Population

Over 210,843 people (2006 census) making Yala the second most populated LGA in Cross River State.
